The Arrest Warrants were issued by the District Court when Brown violated his probation. Brown was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on a $500 bond. In 2021, the Maryland General Assembly included language in the Blueprint for Maryland's Future, to create a new Maryland Consortium on Coordinated Community Supports to help meet student behavioral health needs and other related challenges. Cumberland and Williamsport visitors centers open Saturdays and Sundays beginning March 4
After being closed for several years the visitors’ center at the Western Maryland Railway Station just a few weeks away from re-opening. Anthony Bates of the National Park Service told the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority that two new park rangers who were recently hired have done an excellent job in becoming familiar with the western portion of the park and the hope is to be able to have the Cumberland and Williamsport visitors' centers open Saturdays and Sundays beginning March 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. If additional hires can be made, visitation hours should be extended…
$35.6 million in direct federal funding for local projects in Western Maryland
It was the day before Christmas Eve that U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin announced that they had secured $35.6 million in direct federal funding for local projects in Western Maryland. Power restored after day long repairs on South Mechanic Street
South Mechanic Street was closed between Baltimore Street and Pershing Street on Feb. 2 between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to allow First Energy to replace a broken pole. Trucks were detoured to Queen City Drive to avoid the closure. Repairs have been completed and power restored to the impacted area. Man found dead in Hampshire home had gunshot wound
According to West Virginia State Police, a man found dead inside a burning Hampshire County home Saturday afternoon had an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Jeffrey Boyd, 57, was found in the Larion Drive residence that caught fire about 2 p.m. The home is located in the Windy Acres area off U.S. Route 50. Police said Boyd’s body was found as firefighters battled the “suspicious” blaze, and Trooper S.W. Rigsby and the state police crime scene team were called to investigate.
