Decatur Street Burglary Arrest
On Sunday, September 14, 2025 at approximately 2:16 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the first block of Decatur Street for a breaking and entering complaint. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the alleged victim who reported that the male suspect had kicked in her door, causing damage. She stated that he also knocked over a city trash can and fled the scene. The suspect, Curtis Jones, was located on Baltimore Avenue and placed under arrest. Godlove Wants Substations
Allegany County Sheriff candidate Rich Godlove is looking to reform the sheriff’s department if he gains office. He says the main three areas he would like to address are efficiency, accountability, and transparency. Mini-Grant Applications Being Accepted
Mini-grant applications through the Passages of the Western Potomac Heritage Area are being accepted for non-profits and local jurisdictions within the heritage area boundary. Groups can apply for up to $5,000 in matching funds for heritage tourism projects in the county. The Baltimore Street Revitalization Project has earned international recognition. The International Economic Development Council awarded the project a 2025 Bronze Excellence in Economic Development Award in the Real Estate Redevelopment & Reuse category. The Cumberland Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing juvenile, Alexander D'Atri. He is a 13 year-old white male, approximately 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 94 pounds. He was last seen in the 500 block of Avirett Avenue, Cumberland, MD on September 14, 2025 at approximately 6:30 pm, wearing a "Teddy Bear" t-shirt and dark gray sweatpants.
