On August 17th, 2022 the Cumberland Police responded to South Centre St near the intersection of Harrison St for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival Officers observed that a passenger vehicle had struck two parked cars along South Centre St. The vehicle continued traveling on South Centre until it struck a utility pole and came to rest, sustaining heavy front end damage and airbag deployment. GARRETT COUNTY, MD (August 17, 2022) – Deputy State Fire Marshals are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of a vehicle fire in Oakland that critically injured a man and a young girl earlier this evening. WBAL reports billions of dollars in student loans are reportedly being forgiven by the Biden administration, and it now applies to the ITT Technical Institute. When the for-profit went belly up in 2016, it left nearly 4,000 Marylanders, out of its Owings Mills location, owing student loans. Some with worthless degrees, others who did not finish getting their degrees. On Wednesday at approximately 1:00 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 300 block of Frederick Street for a male suspect attempting to gain entry to a residence. Upon arrival, police contacted the suspect, Aaron Clevenger, who was not cooperative. Clevenger then attempted to gain entry to another residence in the officer’s presence. On Tuesday, August 16, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Timothy Hewlin Sr. The summons was issued in connection with a fraud investigation that began on July 28, 2022. On this date, it was reported that Timothy Hewlin stole banking information and fraudulently withdrew money from the victim’s bank account. Cumberland man charged with Trespassing
On Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at approximately 3:22 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department located Daniel Gibson III inside the Frederick Street parking garage.
