On March 13, 2022, at approximately 1306 Hours, deputies were dispatched to Sheetz located in Lavale Maryland for a report of a red vehicle with Arkansas registration almost striking several vehicles in the parking lot. When the first deputy arrived on scene, he observed a male seated in the driver’s seat of a red colored sedan bearing Arkansas registration. The deputy exited his patrol vehicle and made contact with the operator who initially provided deputies with a false name to avoid apprehension.Subsequently a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, located in the vehicle were multiple bags of methamphetamine….

Three people were taken to UPMC Western Maryland, one by Trooper 5. Maryland State Police is investigating. INITIALREPORT: Police, Fire, EMS and Trooper 5 Medevac have been sent to Eastbound Interstate 68 near Frostburg for a vehicle accident. The Joint Communications Center of Allegany County says the mishap occurred near Exit 34 at around noon.

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of March 11, 2022, there are currently 1,432 active COVID-19 cases statewide. The revised season will now close March 22, 2022, to make up for unfavorable weather conditions. U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin (both D-Md.) announced that nearly $9 million in direct federal funding for local projects across the Western Maryland region was included within the fiscal year 2022 omnibus funding legislation, which the Senators voted to pass Thursday evening.
