Maryland DOH Releases Bottom Ten Vax List

The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) today announced an update on the top and bottom 10 skilled nursing facilities in the state ranked by percentage of staff with at least one dose of a vaccine against COVID-19. MDH also announced an update on skilled nursing facilities that did not submit adequate COVID-19 vaccination data as required. Per vaccination protocols in effect since September 1, 2021 and reinforced on November 4, 2021 by the Federal government, all nursing facility staff are required to have their first or single dose of COVID-19 vaccine. WV PSC Grants Permit To Hampshire County Solar Facility

The Public Service Commission has granted a siting certificate to Capon Bridge Solar, LLC for a solar exempt wholesale electric generating facility in Hampshire County, West Virginia. Capon Bridge plans to construct a 20 megawatt solar generating facility as an exempt wholesale generator.  The project will interconnect with existing distribution facilities owned by The Potomac Edison Company.  Construction costs for the project are estimated to be $17 million. The West Virginia Building and Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO was granted intervenor status in the case.  The Commission did not receive a single protest to the project application, which is widely supported…

Arrest Warrants Served on Burglary Suspects

On November 14th, 2021 officers of the Cumberland Police Department served Arrest Warrants on David Joseph Snyder, and Jacob Patrick Snyder. The Arrest Warrants were issued by the District Court stemming from a burglary investigation on November 13th, 2021. David and Jacob were taken before a District Court Commissioner where they were both held on $5,000.   Arrest: David Joseph Snyder, age 32, Cumberland Maryland. Farmers Market to Relocate in 2022

In anticipation of major construction starting in the spring or early summer next year- the popular weekly farmers market will relocate in 2022. The hope is that groundbreaking on the nearly ten million redesign of the pedestrian mall can take place in May or June. Multiple Water Main Breaks Reported on Seton Drive/Braddock Road

Cumberland water crews were called to the area of Seton Drive and Braddock Road for what was descibed as multiple water main breaks. The initial call was reported by the Allegany County Joint Communications Center at 5:05 PM.

Units Respond To Truck Fire on Interstate 68

Hogan: 99% of Seniors Have Had At Least One Shot

Governor Larry Hogan today announced that, according to official CDC data, 99% of Marylanders 65 and older have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. City Woman Charged With Columbia Street Burglary

On November 13th, 2021 officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 200 block of Columbia Street for a reported breaking and entering. Upon officer’s arrival they spoke with the victim who advised that no one had permission to be inside the residence. Officers then checked the residence and located a female suspect who they later discovered had provided a false name. The officers continued their investigation, and identified the female suspect as Jessica Ann Hamilton. Hamilton was placed under arrest and a subsequent search officers found a quantity of a controlled dangerous substance. Hamilton was then taken before…
