Over the past week, law enforcement has been monitoring several truck convoys en route to the Washington DC area. Maryland Terminates Relationship with Russian City
Maryland has terminated its largely symbolic "sister state" relationship with the region that includes the Russian city of St. Petersburg due to Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine. The CDC has announced that it is no longer recommending universal case investigation and contract tracing for COVID-19. Instead, the nation’s leading public health agency is now recommending that local health departments prioritize investigations and contact tracing only for specific at-risk groups or settings such as congregate living facilities (i.e., long-term care, correctional facilities, homeless shelters, etc.), and that investigations focus on cases with symptom onset or positive test in the preceding five days. Westernport Drug Arrest
On Tuesday troopers from the McHenry Barrack responded to a residence in Westernport, MD in an attempt to serve several outstanding arrests warrants on Justin Allen Donnelly. At the residence Troopers located Donnelly, at which time he was taken into custody on the outstanding warrants. Upon searching Donnelly Troopers discovered that Donnelly was in possession of controlled dangerous substances, that included heroin and fentanyl. Donnelly was subsequently charged with possession of heroin, possession of fentanyl and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Donnelly was subsequently transported to the Allegany County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.

City Man Arrested on Disorderly Conduct
On Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at approximately 9:40 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business on Frederick Street regarding a male subject pointing a firearm at oncoming traffic. An officer observed the described male walking on Frederick Street pointing an object which appeared to be a handgun. The subject was identified as Christopher Maistros. Officers ordered Maistors to stop and put his hands in the air to which he complied. After further investigation, no handgun was located. The object that Maistros had been pointing was determined to be a flashlight. Maistros was arrested for disorderly conduct…
Police Make Assault Arrest
On Monday, February 28, 2022 at approximately 9:30 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business on Virginia Avenue for an assault. The caller reported that a male subject had climbed into a vehicle and assaulted the occupants. Upon officers’ arrival, numerous bystanders directed officers to the vehicle. The male suspect was identified as Joshua Wright. The victims reported that they did not know Wright. Officers ordered Wright to exit the vehicle and that he was under arrest. However, he refused.
