Cumberland Woman held without Bond

On 10/26/2021 the Cumberland City Police Department served an Arrest Warrant on Sommer Dawn Knotts. Knotts failed to appear in District Court on 9/3/2021 for an assault charge. Two Bodies Found in Rawlings Home

Maryland State Police are investigating the death of two people found inside their home in Allegany County. The victims are identified as Gregory Zembower, 65, and Lorraine Zembower, 54, of Rawlings, Maryland.  Both individuals were pronounced deceased in their home located in the 15,000 block of Meadowdale Drive in Rawlings. Future of Canal Place Still Undecided

Although the work of the Canal Place Task Force has largely been completed- a final report has yet to be issued. The seven-member Task Force, chaired by Delegate Jason Buckel, was appointed in March of 2018 to examine the future viability of Canal Place and whether any changes are needed.  Created in 1993, Canal Place is a unique blend of state and federally owned property . Goucher Poll Shows Biden’s Approval Falling in MD

A new Goucher College poll finds President Joe Biden's approval rating falling in Maryland. In poll results released Tuesday 53% of Marylanders either "approve" or "strongly approve" of the job the president is doing while 43% "disapprove" or "strongly disapprove" of the President's job performance. Despite County Lagging Behind, State Vax Rate One of Nation’s Best

It was a glowing COVID-19 vaccination report presented by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan this week. Maryland has administered more than 8.3 million COVID-19 vaccines, including: 98% of Marylanders 65 and older, 85.9% of Marylanders 18 and older and 84.9% of all eligible Marylanders 12 and older. Health Secretary Dennis Schrader called Maryland one of the most vaccinated states in the country noting that nearly 85% of the eligible population 12 and older have had at least one dose. Bedford man killed in Evitts Creek Road crash

According to Pennsylvania State Police, a Bedford man died Monday when his vehicle traveled out of control on Evitts Creek Road in Cumberland Valley Township. Brian K. Marsh, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bedford County coroner following the 6:22 a.m. crash that reportedly occurred near Watson's Pond. Marsh was operating a 2001 Volvo S-40 north when the vehicle traveled off the eastern shoulder, reentered the roadway and crossed the double line before striking a tree, police said. According to the Allegany County Sheriff's Department, a three-vehicle accident has been reported on Interstate 68 eastbound prior to the Clarysville Bridge.
