City Woman Charged with Burglary, Theft

On Friday officers of the Cumberland Police Department served an Arrest Warrant on Caitlin Crabtree. The Arrest Warrant was issued by the District Court after an officer completed an application for charges in regards to a burglary investigation. Gaming Revenue on the rise at Rocky Gap

Gaming revenue at Maryland’s six casinos set a record high in July for the third time in five months. The state’s half-dozen casinos generated a total of $180.1 million in gaming revenue last month, up 28.7% from July 2020. Casinos were operating at 50% capacity last July, but July 2020 was the first full month that casinos were reopened after being closed in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Van Hollen Urges Senate to Immediately Replenish Funds to Support Maryland Restaurants

U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) sent a letter to Senate leadership, urging action to revitalize the Restaurant Revitalization Fund in order to support local restaurants still struggling due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Senator is a cosponsor of Restaurant Revitalization Fund Replenishment Act of 2021, legislation to provide the RRF with an additional $60 billion in funding to meet the outstanding demand for the program. $150,000 in Grants Secured for Water System Improvements in Allegany County

U.S. Representative David Trone (MD-06), along with U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen (all D-MD) announced $150,000 in federal funding for improvements to a water distribution system that supplies nearly 100 homes in Allegany County. The funding came from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Emergency Community Water Assistance Grants program.   Currently, the line of pipes that connects the county water district to its water supplier in Frostburg suffers from severe leaks and breakage. Teen drowning victim in Ocean City Identified

WBAL NewsRadio  has confirmed the identity of the teenage swimmer who drowned in the Atlantic Ocean off of Ocean City this week. His mother, Ren Rick, confirms 17-year-old Azure Storm Martin died this week. Martin, who was from Annapolis, was reported missing Wednesday afternoon in the ocean off of 112th Street, when he got caught in a rip current.  The Ocean City Beach Patrol said three other swimmers were pulled to safety.  Martin's body was recovered from the ocean near 12th Street Thursday afternoon. The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) yesterday released new COVID-19 post-vaccination infections data, adding to its robust COVID-19 data reporting available at coronavirus.maryland.gov. Garrett County Traffic Stop leads to Drug and Gun Arrests

A traffic stop by an alert trooper in Garrett County last night led to the recovery of guns, drugs and the arrests of two suspects, one of whom was wanted in Georgia.    The suspects are identified as Earnest Moreland III, 34, of Decatur, GA, and Donnell Lipscomb, 39, of Essex, Md.  Both were charged with more than one dozen counts each related to the illegal possession of guns and drugs.  Both were ordered held without bond, following their initial appearance before a court commissioner.    Shortly after 8:00 p.m. yesterday, a Maryland state trooper from the McHenry Barrack was…
