Former State Sen. Glassman Announces Candidacy for Maryland Comptroller

Republican Harford County Executive Barry Glassman has announced his candidacy to be Maryland's next comptroller. Incumbent Democrat Peter Franchot will be running for governor in next year's election. Glassman previously served in both the House of Delegates and the state Senate. "The next comptroller will need to be tested with governmental experience and someone who has advocated to protect the state's taxpayers and small businesses," Glassman said in a statement. "After all, the comptroller is the voice of all our taxpaying families and is also their watchdog."

Maryland Citizens Redistricting Commission Announces Members

The co-chairs of the Maryland Citizens Redistricting Commission (Commission) today announced the remaining six members. In January, Governor Hogan issued an executive order establishing the nine member Commission, which is charged with drawing fair and representative legislative and congressional maps for the 2022 elections that are compact and respect natural and subdivision boundaries to the extent practicable, and without accounting for political parties. In order to continue to facilitate vaccination efforts in Allegany County and to better serve the community, UPMC Western Maryland is pleased to announce that its Moderna COVID-19 vaccination clinic set for this Friday, April 16 in the hospital auditorium will now accept walk-ins. Man Arrested Following Disturbance at AMTRAK Station

On Wednesday, April 14th, 2021 the Cumberland Police Department responded to the Amtrak Station located on Gulf Memorial Drive for the report of a male acting disorderly.  When officers arrived, contact was made with an employee who stated that a male has shown up at the stations several times this week trying to board a train without a ticket.  Officers then made contact with the male who was identified as Eddie Robinson.  Robinson immediately started creating a disturbance in front of officers that it was disturbing other pedestrians in area.  He was warned by officers numerous times to lower his…

Maryland Commerce Secretary Kelly Schulz has announced her candidacy for governor in 2022. "This past year has been incredibly tough for all of us. But the perseverance I have seen from Marylanders has been nothing less than awe-inspiring," Schulz said in an announcement posted on Facebook. BOE’s Chief Financial Officer Discusses Impact of Declining Enrollment

Maryland Salem Children’s Trust to Reopen in September
