Rep. Moore Votes Yes on HALT Fentanyl Act

House of Representatives passed H.R. 27, the HALT Fentanyl Act. Congressman Riley M. Moore proudly co-sponsored the legislation, which permanently classifies fentanyl and fentanyl related substances as Schedule 1 under the Controlled Substances Act. Frustratingly, drug cartels have been chemically altering fentanyl to get around the existing U.S. criminal code, but under the HALT Fentanyl Act, that loophole will be closed. Early Second Half Run Leads UC to Win Over Men’s Basketball

Frostburg State Men's Basketball team lost to Charleston (WV) 84-68 at home on Saturday. UC opened the game with a three late in the shot clock, then after misses from both teams, junior Chase Whippen got FSU on the board with a drive to the hoop, getting fouled and knocking in both free throws. Ty Johnson to Receive Top Dapper Dan Award

The Dapper Dan Club of Allegany County has voted Ty Johnson as its top award winner.  Johnson just completed a stellar season with the Buffalo Bills, his sixth in the National Football League.  He averaged 5.2 yards per rush and caught 18 passes, including a spectacular touchdown in the playoffs.  The 76th annual Dapper Dan Sports Banquet will be held April 27th.  The top award is presented to the person who has brought the most favorable publicity to the Cumberland area.  Abby Beeman was last year's winner.
