Travis Allen Riggleman, 32 of Westernport, was served a District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for a Violation of Probation hearing. His original conviction was for Possession-Not Cannabis where he entered a guilty plea and received a Probation Before Judgment disposition with 12-months Supervised Probation while his other charge of Concealing a Dangerous Weapon was placed on the Stet Docket. Riggleman is being held without bond pending a bail review in District Court. Frederick Street Assault Arrest

On Monday, October 28th, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the parklet at N. Centre St and Frederick St for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with facial injuries, requiring medical attention. The victim advised he had been involved in an argument with a “Jerry” subject over money. He stated “Jerry” then became enraged and struck in the face with a flail-type weapon. The victim advised the suspect then dropped the weapon and fled the area. Warrant Arrests

On Monday, October 28th, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department arrested Briauna Dawn Barnard, 31, of Cumberland MD. Barnard was arrested on an active Arrest Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court for an incident that occurred on May 4th, 2024. During that incident, it is alleged that officers located her vehicle broken down and abandoned on the side of the road near Rt 220 and Interstate 68. City Council Candidates Talk About Keeping Teens Active

Halloween Parade Steps Off Wednesday Evening

AAA Urges Interaction With Teens To Teach Safe Driving

It’s Homecoming Week in Allegany County with lots of opportunity for teens to be out and about with friends. However, Triple-A is reminding parents of young drivers that conversations about safety are vital since vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among teens.   AAA’s Doug Shupe stresses the importance of hands-on learning conversations…     “Interactive learning is always best for teens. More Republicans Voting Early

Election Day is now less than two weeks away with polls showing the Presidential race neck and neck.  More than 300,000 Marylanders are part of the 36 million who have already cast their ballots. Grants For West Virginia Rural Hospitals

West Virginia has a new Rural Hospitals Program, recently announced by Governor Jim Justice.  The program will supply $40 million dollars in funding to enhance healthcare services. The money will allow rural hospitals to undertake important projects including building upgrades, equipment purchases, and improvements in patient care… “We’ve got $40 million dollars. We’re accepting applications and everything on these grants right now and the money is going to be out by November 15 so if you want in on this, you’ve got to get with it right now.”
