Fugitive from Justice

On Sunday, July 27th, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department arrested Kaisha Delicia Urgent, 35, of Cumberland, MD. Urgent was arrested on a Fugitive Warrant when it was discovered that she had an extraditable warrant for her arrest in the state of West Virginia. The original warrant was issued in Mineral County, West Virginia, for a charge of malicious assault. She was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance, where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. ACM Continuing To Offer Flood Scholarship

A special flood relief scholarship continues to be available to those affected by flooding in the region. Allegany College of Maryland established the scholarship for direct support of students suffering economic hardship due to the May flood event. The scholarships will be applied directly to a student’s tuition. Historic City Center Sign Removed

Allied Agencies Working Together

On July 15, 2025, around 1:00 am, deputies investigated a burglary at the Patriot Automotive Group along Maryland Highway. During the burglary suspect(s) stole numerous tires from the business. On July 17, 2025, Officers with the Keyser Police Department and Deputies with the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office located the stolen tires at a residence along Baltimore Garden Lane in Keyser, West Virginia.  As a result of the investigations, Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division obtained an arrest warrant charging Brandon Keith Shears, 36 years old, Keyser, with Second Degree Burglary, Fourth Degree Burglary, and Theft. Baltimore Avenue Assault Arrest

On July 26th, 2025 at approximately 10:44 p.m., the Cumberland Police responded to the 300 block of Baltimore Avenue for an assault. Upon arrival officers made contact with a victim on scene. The victim advised they had been assaulted by Michael Eugene Stone Jr. Officers were able to observe injuries to the victim that were consistent with the victim's statement, and placed Stone under arrest. Troy Dell Announces Resignation; Stevenson Named Interim AD at FSU

Frostburg State University Director of Athletics Troy Dell has announced his resignation and move to the same position at Gettysburg College (Pa.), his alma mater. Dell will continue to assist the University through a transition period. His last day will be August 12. Dell has served as FSU’s director of athletics since 2007.
