Frostburg State University graduate Madison Davis was recently awarded an $8,500 fellowship by The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi – the nation’s oldest and most selected collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Red Cross In Need of Donors
The American Red Cross urges donors to give blood now to reinforce the blood supply as much as possible before the summer winds down. Type O blood donors are especially needed to help keep hospital shelves stocked through August. Private Investment Boosting Downtown’s Future
Private investment from both local entrepreneurs and out of town investors is helping to spur growth in downtown Cumberland, according to Mayor Ray Morriss. WV Appeals For Power Plant Stay
The state of West Virginia has appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court for an emergency stay of the Environmental Protection Agency new rule on power plants. Attorney General Patrick Morrisey filed the appeal Tuesday, seeking relief from the government agency’s enforcement of rules on coal and natural gas power plants. Several states joined West Virginia’s appeal as Morrisey claims the Environmental Protection Agency is ignoring limits imposed in the 2022 case of West Virginia vs. EPA.
