At the most recent Canal Place Development Authority meeting, the board said there have been some changes to the master plan for the proposed River Park.  After board members and project engineers “walked the plan,” Canal Place board chair Colleen Peterson said they decided to make some cuts, decreasing the budget from $12 million to $10.6 million.  Peterson said this phase focuses on affordability, direct river access, ADA access and action…

   

“The public, I think, has maybe not heard that all this good stuff is going on behind the scenes to get a shovel in the ground.  It’s really important for us to move as quickly as we possibly can so people know this project is really going to happen.”
