A letter from Maryland Senators Angela Alsobrooks and Chris Van Hollen to the U.S. Department of the Interior seeks to preserve historical accuracy at Harpers Ferry. The Trump Administration has order the removal or covering of at least 30 sign in the National Park that speak to slavery or racial discrimination. The senators’ letter indicates that any “whitewashing” of history insults the memory of those who lived it and fought to uphold American values.
