August 3rd, 2020 by WCBC Radio

On Sunday, August 2nd, 2020 the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Waverly Terrance to check on the welfare of two females that were reportedly passed out in a vehicle.  When officers arrived, contact was made with two females identified as Dakota McKenzie Getz and Carissa Paige Ketterman who appeared to be either sleeping or unconscious and had to be awakened up by officers.  They were asked if they needed any medical attention and they advised that they did not.  While offices were speaking with Getz and Ketterman, a K-9 officer arrived to assist.  A scan of the vehicle resulted in an alert for the presence of a controlled dangerous substance and officers subsequently conducted a search.   As a result, a quantity of suspect heroin and some CDS paraphernalia was located in the vehicle.  Both Getz and Ketterman were arrested and charged with CDS possession of heroin and CDS possession of paraphernalia.  Both were taken before the District Court Commissioner and were released on their own personal recognizance pending trial.

Dakota McKenize Getz, age; 23, Cumberland, Maryland.

Carissa Paige Ketterman, age; 21, Cumberland, Maryland.
