CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED
On Friday, July 7, 2023, the Cumberland Police Department served criminal summonses on Thomas House Jr. and Stephanie House. The summonses were issued as the result of an incident that occurred on July 3, 2023. On this date at approximately 5:38 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 300 block of E. Oldtown Rd. for the report of a man being struck by a vehicle. Officers contacted Thomas House and Stephanie House. They explained that a neighbor had trapped a cat and put it in his vehicle. Thomas explained that he wanted to see if it was his cat so he attempted to stop him from driving away. He advised that his neighbor then struck him and Stephanie with his vehicle. After further investigation, police learned that both Thomas and Stephanie had acted in a disorderly manner and blocked free passage of the roadway. Police filed for charges against Thomas and Stephanie at the District Court of Allegany County. They signed for their copy of the summons and were released pending trial.
