On July 27th, 2023 at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business on Queen City Drive for a theft. Upon arrival an officer was advised that Dakota Lee Mills had eaten a bag of beef jerky and placed candy in his pockets, before he left without paying for the items. An employee from the store gave a description of Mills, and the officer located him nearby. Mills was placed under arrest and issued a citation for theft. Mills was then released pending trial at District Court.
