Women’s Track & Field Impresses at Jim Wuske Invite

Frostburg State Women's Indoor Track and Field team competed on Saturday in the Jim Wuske Invite, where they finished top-five in multiple events.

Freshman Isabella Mastria was the lone first place finisher for Frostburg, taking first in the long jump with a jump of 5.32m, which is the fifth-best in FSU history. It was a busy day for Mastria, who also placed fifth in the 60m dash with an 8.00 finish, and the 200m dash with a 26.56 finish. Sophomore Jasmine Scott finished second in the 200m dash with a 26.33 time, while sophomore Valerie Boards took fourth with a 26.49 time. Boards also finished third in the 60m dash with a time of 7.90.

Sophomores Khady Ndiaye (11.13m) and Eva Morrison (10.75) took second and fourth, respectively, in the triple jump, with Morrison putting herself sixth all-time in Frostburg history. She also went on to take third place in the pole vault with a 3.39m finish.

Finishing in seventh place in the 1k, sophomore Alana Dyce-Giraud set the second best-time in Bobcat history with a 3:15.53 time. Joining her in the top-10 program list, freshman Emily Wishart set the fifth best time in Frostburg history with a 3:21.60, while senior Amy Tarcza finished at 3:28.56 time for the eighth best time.

Frostburg will compete next at the Youngstown Mid-Major Invitational in Youngstown, Ohio on Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
