Over $3.5 million will be coming to West Virginia to help strengthen healthcare services. U.S. Senator Joe Manchin announced the funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Manchin calls the investments “critical” to strengthen healthcare services across the state. The funds will support statewide efforts in hospital preparedness, vaccinations for children, and addressing arthritis with a statewide public health program. This funding follows $2 million awarded in May to rural hospitals and health centers to battle tobacco-related diseases and death.
