Allegany County Under Flash Flood Warning

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  Western and Central Allegany County in western Maryland...

* Until 445 AM EDT.

* At 1045 PM EDT, trained weather spotters reported an inch of rain
  in the last 30 to 45 minutes near Frostburg due to thunderstorms.
  Additional rainfall of up to one inch in the next hour is expected
  to cause some creeks and streams to rise above bankful. Roads may
  become blocked by high water.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include...
  Cumberland, Frostburg, Westernport, Bel Air, La Vale, Lonaconing,
  Piedmont, Ridgeley, Cresaptown, Potomac Park, Wiley Ford, Eckhart
  Mines, Mount Savage, Rawlings, Ellerslie, Barton, Corriganville,
  Midland, Midlothian and Franklin.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when the
dangers of flooding are harder to see.
