September 4th, 2011 by WCBC Radio

On August 16,  the Cumberland City Police Department responded to the area of Second Street and South Street in reference to a robbery.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with the operator of a local taxi cab service.  This victim advised the officers that he picked up three subjects on Baltimore Avenue and drove them to the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and Third Street.  When the taxi arrived at this location two of the subjects exited the taxi and the third subject stayed inside to pay the cab fare.  As the taxi driver was making change one of the subjects grabbed the money bag and all three took off running.  A description of the three subjects was provided and patrolling units checked the area but were not able to immediately locate the suspects.  An anonymous tip resulted in three persons of interest being developed as suspects in the robbery.  The investigating officer then located and conducted interviews with the three subjects.  As a result of the investigation three subjects have been arrested.  Two of the three subjects arrested were juvenile males.  The juveniles arrested will be handled through the Department of Juvenile Services.

One of the subjects was an adult, Trevon Marcel Emerson.  Trevon Emerson was arrested on September 2.  Trevon Emerson was processed at Police Headquarters then taken to District Court for his initial appearance at which time he was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $15,000.00.
