Business Representative From Governor’s Office To Address TGCC

April 25th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

The next meeting of The Greater Cumberland Committee (TGCC) is slated for Thursday, May 5, at the Gira Center for Communication and Information Technology at Frostburg State University beginning at 11:30am.  The agenda will include an overview and presentation provided by Roger Campos, Business Ombudsman for Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, as he shares challenges faced by local businesses and his successful policy implementation to address those challenges.

Mr. Campos was appointed in February 2015 as the State’s first Business Ombudsman to serve in the Cabinet as a liaison between businesses, economic development organizations, communities, and federal, state, and local agencies.  The mission of the Office is to remove barriers and resolve problems encountered by businesses interacting with government agencies, and improve the business climate in order to enhance business growth and create jobs.

Prior to serving the Governor, Mr. Campos served 15 years as Founder and President & CEO of the Minority Business RoundTable (MBRT), the first national organization for CEOs of the nation’s leading Hispanic American, African American, Asian American and Native American-owned businesses. MBRT provides a national forum for the 6 million CEOs of large and small, minority, veteran, HUBZone and women-owned businesses to address public policy issues; and serves as a unique resource on business issues including procurement, contracting, access to capital and coaching CEO’s on how to do business with federal, state, and local governments.
