A Maryland lawmaker, who is currently running for governor, wants to legalize marijuana in Maryland, and use tax revenue to increase the state’s education budget. Delegate Heather Mizeur announced the plan last month, saying that legalizing, regulating and taxing marijuana in a way similar to how the state regulates alcohol would provide the state with increased revenue and enhance public safety. As always with such controversial proposals- there will be plenty of opposition.
