City Police Makes Several Arrests Wednesday

On February 5th, 2020, The Cumberland City Police responded to the 400 block of Grand Ave for the report of a possible breaking and entering of an abandoned home. Upon arrival on scene, officers contacted a witness who advised they observed a male inside the vacant property. As officer’s approached the property, a male subject exited the front door. He was stopped and detained and identified as Daniel Keith Gibson III, 24, of Cumberland MD.  It was then confirmed that Gibson had no permission to be in the property. Gibson was placed under arrest and taken to police headquarters for processing. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held on $250 bond.

Charges: Burglary 4th Degree

 

***Adult Arrest***

On February 5th, 2020, The Cumberland City Police arrested Jordan Lawrence Costello, age 33, of Cumberland MD. Costello was arrested on an open Bench Warrant issued by Wicomico County District Court in October 2018. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. Costello is being held without bond.

Charges: Bench Warrant – Fail to Comply

 

***Adult Arrest***

On February 5th, 2020, The Cumberland City Police responded to the 400 block of Greene St for the report of a hit and run crash. Upon arrival on scene, officers contacted a victim who advised that their vehicle had been struck by a large SUV. They advised the suspect vehicle failed to stop after the collision. The suspect vehicle was described as a white in color Hummer. Officers were able to locate a vehicle matching the description a short distance away, disabled in the sidewalk. The owner and driver of the vehicle, Cynthia Lynn Linn, was located at her residence shortly after. During the investigation, Linn became uncooperative and assaulted an officer. As a result, Linn was placed under arrest and taken to police headquarters for processing. She was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await her Initial Appearance.

Arrested:  Cynthia Lynn Linn       Age: 65,    Cumberland MD

Charges: Assault 2nd Degree, Numerous traffic offenses including Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Driving Under the Influence
