City Police Respond To Trespassing Complaint

On December 22, 2019, the Cumberland City Police were dispatched to a house on Bedford Street for a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival Officers met with the owner of the property who believed subjects were inside the house without permission. Furthermore, several no trespassing signs were clearly posted on the property. Upon searching the residence, Officers located several individuals inside identified as Daniel Ray Izat, John Arthur Clair, Dexter Leon Horn III, Dillon Roy Nicholson and Amber Dawn Clair.  It was confirmed that all individuals did not have permission to be inside the property. Subsequently, Criminal Citations for trespassing were issued to Daniel Izat, John Clair, Dexter Horn, and Dillon Nicholson, and they were released pending trial in District Court. 

Officers investigating the complaint also discovered that Amber Clair had initially provided officers with a false name.  Officers further learned that Clair had on an open Bench Warrant through District Court for her arrest.  Consequently, she also received a Criminal Citation for trespassing, and received additional charges of providing false identity to avoid prosecution and obstructing and hindering. Amber Clair was served the Bench Warrant for failing to appear on the original charge of theft $100 to $1,500 and the additional charges. She was then transported to the Allegany County Detention Center to await her Initial Appearance in District Court.
