Bluegrass legend Del McCoury spent the day in Cumberland on Thursday handing out checks to non profits organizations in the community- a tradition each summer resulting from the success of the annual Memorial Weekend DelFest concerts. The festival, held for the past five years at the Allegany County Fairgrounds, has grown each year- and contributions to local charities has now exceeded $200,000- $50,000 of which was distributed yesterday (Thursday).
