Delegation Updates Chamber Members

April 28th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

The Allegany County Chamber of Commerce on Friday hosted its annual Legislative Wrap-Up Breakfast at the Cumberland Country Club hearing from each member of the District One Delegation.

State Senator George Edwards described the overall fiscal picture to be a healthy one in Maryland and said that aside from a few minor debates, the 2017 session of the General Assembly was basically controversy free.

Delegates Wendell Beitzel and Jason Buckel discussed the ban on fracking that was passed in the final week of the session and the potential loss of economic development opportunities as a result.

Delegate Mike McKay wrapped up the two hour meeting, thanking those members of the chamber of the local community who took time during the 90 day session to come to Annapolis to testify on a wide variety of legislation.
