It’s been a month since Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine announced at a public meeting that a five year contract between the county and representatives of DelFest had been agreed upon. To date no deal has been signed. DelFest business manager Stan Strictland was a guest Thursday morning on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” to discuss all things DelFest beginning with the contract. Strictland says that all parties were ready to sign a new deal based on this strong relationship with Commissioner Bill Valentine and Tourism Director Barb Buehl. However he then became aware of comments from Commissioners President Jake Shade suggesting some significant changes could be in the works for the county’s tourism operation.
