Frank Expresses Displeasure with BOE Leadership Vote

A change in leadership with the Allegany County Board of Education. The newly constituted School Board began the new year with a pair of split 3-2 votes on the election of officers. The board, conducting its first meeting of 2021, elected its newest member- Crystal Bender as board president. Bender was nominated for the position by board member David Bohn who noted that she was the top vote getter in the November election and added that she would be impartial. Member Deb Frank nominated Tammy Fraley to continue to serve as president- pointing to her experience and knowledge of the education system.  Bender was elected by a 3-2 vote with Bohn, Robert Farrell and Bender voting in the affirmative.
