MACo Conference Recognizes Hutcheson

January 3rd, 2013 by WCBC Radio

Allegany County Commissioners Mike McKay, Creade Brodie, Jr., and Bill Valentine are participating in the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) Annual Winter Conference this week, at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Hotel in Cambridge. The goal of the conference is to provide county decision markers and other participants with a clearer perspective of the challenges facing counties and, most importantly, to provide strategies for addressing and solving these challenges. The ultimate result of attendance is more effective and more efficient county government. “Counties: We Deliver!” is the conference theme. One of the highlights this year is the recognition of former commissioner Robert  Hutcheson for his years of public service.  Hutcheson, who served as an Allegany County Commissioner from 2000 to 2010, is being awarded the 2013 Marilyn J. Praisner Public Service Award. During his time in elected office, Hutcheson was active in MACo. Hutcheson was nominated by the Allegany County Commissioners. Hutcheson will receive this prestigious award at MACo’s Inaugural Ceremony/Awards Banquet on Thursday.
