Maryland High Court Dismisses Appeal

July 6th, 2021 by WCBC Radio

The Maryland Court of Appeals has dismissed Governor Larry Hogan's appeal of a decision that blocked his decision to end enhanced federal unemployment benefits for about 300,000 residents.

The ruling allows a temporary restraining order to continue, and will likely mean the next move in the challenge to come in circuit court.

Hogan wanted the federal portion to end last Saturday evening.   The challenge is expected to continue, as the governor wants those on unemployment to return to the workforce.
