Oakland Pair Sentenced in Animal Cruelty Case

Two Oakland residents pled guilty in an animal cruelty case earlier this month.

51 year old Lisa Kitzmiller has been sentenced to 30 days in jail, three years probation and ordered to pay $1000 restitution to Garrett County Sheriff's Animal Control for multiple animal cruelty and neglect offenses.  73 year old William Corbin has been put on probation for three years on a charge of failure to provide veternary care to an animal.  Neither will be allowed to own an animal during the probationary period..

The charges were filed after a search warrant was executived.  Deputies and staff found one deceased dog, another injured and malnourished dog, and three other malnourished dogs living in poor condiction at another residence.
