Officer Allegedly Assaulted During Disturbance Arrest

On Saturday afternon, at about 2:30 PM, Cumberland City Police responded to the 300 block of Avirett Avenue for a disturbance.  This was the third time officers had responded to the area for the same complaint.

Upon arrival officers observed Stephanie Lynn Hupp yelling at her neighbors. Officers instructed Hupp to stop creating the disturbance but she did not comply.  Hupp was then placed under arrest and placed into a police vehicle.

While in the police vehicle Hupp leaned back and kicked the arresting officer. Hupp was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance.

Hupp was held on a $5,000.00 bond and transported to the Allegany county Detention Center.

Arrested – Stephanie Lynn Hupp (42) Cumberland, MD

Charges – Disorderly Conduct, Fail to Obey a Lawful Order, and Assault 2nd Degree

    I guess there is a lot of pent up need to go all Hatfield and McCoy after Civility Day on Thursday.
