John Balch will be honored by the Community Trust Foundation with the 2019 Humanitarian Leadership Award for his professional and philanthropic leadership in ceremonies tonight at the Frostburg State University Lane Center from 6 to 9 p.m. Balch founded PharmaCare of Cumberland in 1977 and PharmaCare Infusion Services in 1989. He has served as the president of both organizations since their inception. Balch serves as chairman/board president of The Children’s League, The Greater Cumberland Committee, Cumberland YMCA Capital Campaign, Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Community Foundation and Bishop P. Francis Murphy Educational Endowment for Western Maryland. He is vice chairman of the Western Maryland Health System Capital Campaign Cabinet and served as chair of the WMHS Foundation from 2006 to 2015.
