Suspicious vehicle report leads to three drug arrests

CDS Arrest

On 08/05/15 Cumberland Police Officers responded to the 200 block of W. Oldtown Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle.  Upon the Officers arrival they located the vehicle parked with three occupants.  Officers spoke to the owner of the vehicle and two passengers who all gave different stories of why the vehicle was parked in the area.  A consent search of the vehicle was completed which led to the discovery of several types of prescription medications as well as several types of CDS Paraphernalia.  These medications were not issued to any one of the individuals inside the vehicle.  All three subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  Kenneth Divelbliss III was issued a Criminal Citation and was released from the Police Department pending trial in District Court.  Philip Saville and Mary Crossland, the owner of the vehicle, were charged with CDS charges and were released on their own recognizance after a hearing at the District Court Commissioner’s Office.

Theft Arrest

On 08/05/15 Cumberland Police Officers responded to a Virginia Avenue business for a report of an alleged shoplifter.  Upon their arrival Officers spoke to an employee who observed a female customer, Sherri Wagoner, allegedly remove several items from the store and conceal them on her person.  The Officer viewed the surveillance camera and observed Wagoner remove the items.  Officers then placed Wagoner under arrest.  A search incident to a lawful arrest revealed several items of CDS Paraphernalia on her person.  Wagoner was transported to the Cumberland Police Department and was later remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on $100 bond after appearing before the District Court Commissioner.
