May 2nd, 2020 by WCBC Radio

On May 1, at 8:09 pm, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Columbia Street for a disturbance.  Upon arrival officers contacted Amber Whetsell, age 25 of Cumberland, Maryland, and the complainants.  Officers found that Whetsell was disturbing the occupants of the building.  Officers were able to de-escalate the situation and informed Whetsell not to create further problems.  This complaint was the second disturbance incident with Whetsell within a short period of time.  Whetsell agreed to not cause any further problems and go inside for the night.  After officers cleared the scene they were immediately called back for Whetsell creating yet another disturbance in the building. When officers arrived they found Whetsell at the victim’s apartment yelling and continuing to create a disturbance.  Subsequently, Whetsell was arrested and transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  She was then issued Criminal Citations for disturbing the peace, fail to obey, and disorderly conduct.  Whetsell was then released pending trial in District Court.

At 10:25 pm, officers were dispatched to 500 block of Winfred Road for a trespassing complaint.  Upon arrival officers located Amber Pruitt, age 24 of Ridgeley, on the property of the business.  Officer advised her that she needed to leave the property and quit creating a disturbance at the property.  Pruitt agreed not to cause any further problems and left the area.  At 10:35 pm, officers were again called back to the same location for Pruitt creating another disturbance and trespassing.  Pruitt was then arrested and transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  She was then issued Criminal Citations for trespassing and failing to obey.  Pruitt was released pending trial in District Court.
