Born March 6, 1950 in Uniontown, PA, he was the son of the late Willis Tipton Shaffer and Mary Lou (Bierer) Shaffer.

Randy was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard “Rick” Shaffer, and his brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” Williams, Jr.

He was a graduate of Southern Garrett High School and Towson State University.

Randy operated the Shaffer Ford Dealership in Motor City for 39 years. Over the years, he had five franchises: Ford, Jeep, Buick, Chevrolet, and Toyota. He was dedicated to the community. With Ali Ghan Shrine, he made sure the transportation vans were in “working order” for taking the patients and their parents to the Shriners Hospitals for treatment. He supported many of the local golf tournaments, sheriff and police departments, Western Maryland Food Bank, Allegany County Animal Shelter, and the youth in 4-H and sports. The local high schools appreciated him coordinating the “Drive 4 UR School” fundraising events.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Donna Rae Shaffer; two daughters, Angela Marie Dolan and Sarah Elizabeth Dolan; his sister, Rebecca Ann Williams; precious grandson, Wyatt Andrew Dolan; and, niece Autumn Cole Williams. Shelby and Ottis were his faithful fur companions.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Sunday from 4-7 PM.
