Second Street Fire Ruled Accidental

The blaze was reported at 12 East Second Street at 1:28 PM, and brought 38 Cumberland firefighters and volunteers from Allegany and Mineral Counties to the scene.

All told, the structure sustained $57,000 in damage, while the contents received $10,000.

The cause of the blaze has been ruled as accidental, starting in the living room while the occupant was not at home.

The building is owned by Phillip Weser and occupied by Janelle Keating.

The Red Cross is assisting.
