Ternent Named Official Chief of Police

Although the Cumberland Mayor and City Council announced in April that Interim Police Chief Chuck Ternent had been selected as the official chief of police- the contract was not finalized and made official until last night. The selection process itself lasted four months and included a national search and Ternent was announced as the city’s choice more than two months ago. During Tuesday’s regular meeting, the city council approved Ternent’s contract which runs through January of 2023 with automatic renewals built in. City Administrator Jeff Rhodes….
