Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of Gun and Drugs

A Maryland State Trooper from the Hagerstown Barrack stopped a Washington County man for an inoperable rear left stop lamp and cracked windshield yesterday evening which led to the seizure of a gun and a felony arrest.

The accused is identified as Randy Green, Jr., 22, of the 14000 block of Village Mill Drive in Maugansville, Maryland. Green is charged with felony handgun charges, CDS possession not marijuana, CDS possession with intent to distribute, theft and illegal possession of ammunition. Green was transported to Washington County central booking.

Shortly before 6:00 p.m. yesterday evening, troopers from the Hagerstown Barrack initiated a traffic stop on a purple Audi for vehicle equipment violation on Crayton Blvd. in Washington County, MD. The vehicle was bearing Maryland registration.

As the trooper approached the vehicle he noticed the driver and front seat passenger displaying strange behavior. Further investigation led to the arrest of Green, who was the front seat passenger, for a loaded handgun and possession of heroin, and (MDMA) ecstasy.
