WV Focus Of March Meeting Of The Greater Cumberland Committee

The next meeting of The Greater Cumberland Committee (TGCC) is slated for Thursday, March 3, at the Cumberland Country Club at 11:30am.  The agenda will include an economic outlook presented by Holly Childs, CEcD, who serves as President of Morgantown Area Economic Partnership (MAP) and the Director of the Monongalia County Development Authority (MCDA).  MAP is a regional, non-profit, public-private sector partnership that helps businesses expand, grow and locate in Monongalia and Preston Counties (WV).  The MCDA is an arm of county government whose purpose is to “promote, develop, and advance the business prosperity and economic welfare of Monongalia County.” 

Childs was previously a Partner in Brentwood Developments, Inc. (USA) and its Director of Acquisitions.  Her professional background includes 19 years of experience in economic development organization management and commercial real estate development.  During her career, Childs has led economic development projects resulting in the creation of more than 15,000 jobs and over $900 million in new capital investment.

 

The Greater Cumberland Committee is a not-for-profit member based organization of 80 civic and business leaders representing Allegany and Garrett counties, MD, Mineral and Hampshire counties, WV and Bedford and Somerset counties, PA.  Members of the media are invited and encouraged to attend.
