DUI arrest following Motor Vehicle Crash on MacDonald Terrace
On November 30th, 2022 officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 700 block of MacDonald Terrace for a reported motor vehicle crash. Upon officer’s arrival they spoke with a complainant who advised a female had advised them of the motor vehicle crash, who then left the area. The witness provided a description of the female, and described her as being impaired. Officers were able to locate the female, identified as Victoria Webb, and observed evidence of impairment. The Arrest Warrant was issued by the District Court when he failed to appear for his trial on November 21st, 2022. Maryland Speaker of the House Adrienne Jones visited Allegany County on Tuesday to get an up close in-person look at a number of key regional projects. Jones, a Baltimore County Democrat, met with the Allegany County Commissioners before making stops at Canal Place and the Rocky Gap Casino Resort. Sold out crowds all Thanksgiving weekend at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad as the popular Polar Express season officially got underway. The Polar Express excursion for families is about an hour with the train taking riders to a Christmas village setup at Helmstetter’s Curve near Cash Valley Road and returning. Early Surge in Respiratory Infections and high rates of hospitalization
Every fall and winter, viral respiratory illnesses like the common cold and seasonal flu keep kids out of school and social activities. But this year, more children than usual are ending up at emergency departments and hospitals. In Maryland, emergency rooms have run out of beds because of the unusually high number of severe respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV, infections. New Development in the Archdiocese of Baltimore Sex Abuse case
A new development has happened regarding the effort to release to the public the report from the Maryland attorney general's office that details hundreds of cases of sex abuse by priests in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting in Frederick County Under Investigation
BALTIMORE, MD (November 29, 2022) – The Independent Investigations Division of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General is investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred in Frederick, Maryland, on Tuesday morning. WV Turnpike traffic exceeds estimates early Thanksgiving week
Traffic on the West Virginia Turnpike was heavier than expected the first two days of the Thanksgiving travel week. From Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, through Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, 721,114 vehicles passed through Turnpike toll booths. Traffic was heaviest the two days before the Thanksgiving holiday and the weekend after. On Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, 132,053 vehicles went through Turnpike toll booths. On Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, 156,757 vehicles passed through the toll booths. Traffic for the two days was nearly 2,000 vehicles higher than predicted.
