4 people stabbed, 2 arrested in “serious assault” in Ocean City Friday morning
WBAL reports Ocean City police are reporting that four people were assaulted around 12:35 a.m. Friday morning, three of which were flown to local area hospitals as a result. The assault took place on 130th Street and is believed to be drug-related, according to Ocean City Mayor Richard Meehan. One Arrested for Alleged CDS Activity on Virginia Avenue
On Thursday, May 27th, 2021 a Cumberland Officer on patrol in the area of Virginia Avenue and observed what he believed to be CDS activity. Based on those observations, he conducted an investigation and was able to arrest Daniel Gregory Sweitzer for possession of crack cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. Sweitzer was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released on his own personal recognizance pending trial. Daniel Gregory Sweitzer, age; 39, Bedford, Pennsylvania.
Former Garrett County Employee Claims Judge Imposed Sexual Relationship
According to a federal lawsuit, a Garrett County judge forced his employee to regularly have sex with him or “she would lose her health insurance and not be able to receive life-saving cancer treatments." The civil case, filed this week in federal district court in Maryland, details several allegations against Raymond G. Strubin — circuit court and administrative judge for Garrett County. The suit was brought forward by Loriann Ludwig, 52, former Garrett court jury commissioner and law librarian. Maryland State Police Preparing for Busy Holiday Weekend
With traffic expected to surge this Memorial Day weekend, additional Maryland state troopers will be on patrol and using a variety of initiatives to keep traffic moving, respond quickly to highway incidents and take appropriate enforcement action when violations are observed that threaten the safety of travelers. Beginning Friday, troopers from each of the 23 Maryland State Police barracks statewide will be focusing enforcement efforts on impaired driving, aggressive driving, speeding, distracted driving and other violations that often contribute to highway tragedies. City Man Charged with Assault
On Thursday, May 27th, 2021 the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Baltimore and Park Street for the report of a male assaulting another male. When officers arrived in the area, they located a male with serious facial injuries. The male told officers that he had been assault by another male who had fled the area and provided officers with a description.
