A World Series-winner as a player, a highly successful manager and coach after retiring and a beloved member of the Pirates organization, Bill Virdon has passed away, the team confirmed with a statement Tuesday afternoon. He was 90 years old. Capon Bridge in Hampshire County target of Rehabilitation
On Tuesday, Gov. Jim Justice and the West Virginia Division of Highways announced a contract for $7,166,000 to rehabilitate the historic Capon Bridge in Hampshire County. It was one of eight bridge construction, replacement or rehabilitation projects awarded from a bid letting held Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021. Triton Construction Inc. was the lowest of three bidders for the project, which will renovate the span. The bridge carries US 50 over the Cacapon River in Capon Bridge. Embassy Theatre to hold auditions for Damn Yankees
The Embassy Theatre will be holding auditions for our 2022 production of Damn Yankees, directed by Brian Tucker with book by George Abbott and Douglass Wallop, music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. Auditions will take place at the Embassy Theatre 49 Baltimore St. Cumberland, MD 21502. Auditions will be Saturday December 11th from 10 AM – 3 PM with callbacks on Sunday December 12 from 6 PM – 9 PM. Auditions will take place in groups starting at 10 AM, 10:45 AM, 11:30 PM, 12:15 PM, 1:00 PM, 1:45 PM and 2:30 PM.

Fatal Crash Reported in McHenry
On Monday, November 22nd, at approximately 9:04 p.m., the McHenry Barrack received numerous 911 calls for a dark colored pick-up truck traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 68 near Friendsville, Garrett County, Maryland. While Troopers were responding to the area, several other calls came into the Garrett County 911 center for a motor vehicle collision at the 6 mile marker of westbound Interstate 68, involving the pick-up truck from the previous calls. Maryland Health Department Lists Nursing Facility Vaccine Compliance
The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) today announced an update on the top and bottom 10 skilled nursing facilities in the state ranked by percentage of staff with at least one dose of a vaccine against COVID-19. MDH also announced an update on skilled nursing facilities that did not submit adequate COVID-19 vaccination data as required. Per vaccination protocols in effect since September 1, 2021 and reinforced on November 4, 2021 by the Federal government, all nursing facility staff are required to have their first or single dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
