The number of new coronavirus cases in Maryland is plummeting. The state's health department reported just 468 new infections on Tuesday, the lowest daily case count since early October. On March 1, 2021, the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force arrested Edward Samuel Maxfield, IV, 31, of Baltimore, in the 200 block of Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD. Maxfield was the subject of a CDS investigation for the distribution and sales of fentanyl in the Allegany County area. Maxfield was found to be in possession of fentanyl, buprenorphine, CDS packaging materials and U.S. Currency. On February 27th, 2021, The Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons was on Austin Garrett Sisk, 30, of Cumberland MD. The summons was in reference to an incident that occurred on February 23rd, 2020 at a residence in the 1100 block of Oldtown Rd. During the incident, the victim alleged that Sisk had assaulted them after an argument had ensued inside the residence. Sisk fled the scene on foot after the incident.
