West Virginia Governor Jim Justice began latest COVID-19 briefing by reporting an increase in the number of straight days active cases have decreased (20) as well as a decrease in “red” counties, now down to eight. The state is meeting its goal of administering at 100% of vaccine doses it receives each week, Justice said, as the end of the first week of vaccine clinics in all 55 counties wrapped up. The community remembered Dr. Sean McCagh Friday, as a private memorial service was held in Cumberland. The service was streamed online, providing an opportunity for friends and family to observe a touching tribute to one of the true community leaders in the area. City Woman Held After Violation of Court Order
On February 7th, 2021 an officer from the Cumberland Police Department responded to a North Lee address for a reported disturbance. Upon officers arrival they observed Crystal Nicole Rymer to be at the residence creating a disturbance. Through the officers investigation they learned that Rymer had recently been served with a Protective Order and that she was ordered to stay away from the victim and the residence. Springfield Man Arrested on Drug Charges
On February 6th, 2021 an officer from the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on East Industrial Boulevard where they made contact with the operator, Wayne Scott Skipper II. A K-9 was requested which indicated a positive alert on the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle and his person revealed several items of controlled dangerous substances, and controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.
