MISSING JUVENILE

Cumberland Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing juvenile, Jose Michael Lee Logsdon.  Logsdon is a 13-year-old white male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and 155 pounds. Logsdon was last seen on St. Mary’s Avenue in Cumberland on February 7th, 2023 at approximately 7:30 am, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, dark sweatpants and black Crocs. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts please call the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600. Callers can remain anonymous.

BENCH WARRANT SERVED

On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Michael Chamberlain.  The warrant was issued as the result of Chamberlain violating probation.  He was originally charged with Electronic Communication Harassment.  Chamberlain was arrested and transported to Central Booking.  He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $500 bond. First Hearing On CDBG Funds

Cumberland had its first hearing for Community Development Block Grant Funding at Tuesday’s Mayor and Council meeting.  Lee Borror, Senior Community Development Specialist, says Cumberland gets an average of $800,000 a year in CDBG funding. Several groups presented at the meeting who receive CDBG funds. One organization looking for funding this year is Family Crisis Resource Center. More Applicants For PSP Trooper Positions

More individuals are applying to become Pennsylvania State Troopers.  Over 1,800 applicants were eligible for the most recent state trooper exam – the numbers have increased since Governor Shapiro lifted the requirement of a college degree. Over 41% of the applicants this cycle do not have degrees. PSP Communications Director Adam Reed says the more applicants, the better…

WV AG Against LNG Pause

West Virginia’s Attorney General is pushing back against the Biden Administration’s pause on exports of liquefied natural gas. AG Patrick Morrisey along with 22 other states has sent a letter to the President saying the pause in exports harms the economy. The nation’s abundant supply of LNG has spiked international trade. Governor Delivers State-of-the-State Speech In Annapolis

Wednesday saw Governor Wes Moore give his second State-Of-The-State Speech in Annapolis before the combined House and Senate, along with special guests. Lechliter Named New CNO

Christine Lechliter has been named chief nursing officer and vice president of Patient Care Services at UPMC Western Maryland. In this role, Lechliter will be responsible for developing and enhancing patient care services, working with nursing and other clinical teams to advance care and services for the community. Lechliter has been with UPMC since 1995. She serves on the Maryland Board of Nursing and the Westen Maryland System Auxiliary. She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in business administration.

High Rating For Triton
