Allegany County Emergency Services reporting that the missing elderly female, Janet Lee Asbury has been safely located at a residence Frost Street. The Frostburg City Police Department and area public safety agencies are attempting to locate 82-year-old Janet Lee Asbury who went missing from a residence at 63 High Street in Frostburg sometime between 5:00 am and 7:30 am. Janet was last seen wearing a light blue shirt with three-quarter-length sleeves and dark blue pants. Janet has a history of dementia and is not from the Frostburg area. Fourth Street CDS Arrest
On Saturday December 16th, 2023 at approximately 11 pm, officers of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Fourth Street and Grand Avenue. They contacted the operator, Jon Vanetta Jr, who showed criminal indicators. Officers learned that Vanetta did not possess a drivers license, and as they continued their investigation a search was conducted, where items of paraphernalia and a quantity of a controlled dangerous substance was located. UPMC requiring masks at its facilities beginning Wednesday, Dec. 20th
UPMC will soon require masks at its facilities do to a rise in respiratory virus cases. In an emailed statement the health system said “To protect the health and safety of our employees, patients and visitors, beginning Wednesday, Dec. 20 everyone in our health care facilities will wear effective masks which reduce transmission of respiratory viruses in health care settings,” the statement read. The hospital system lifted its mask requirement in May as COVID-19 cases declined. Allegany County, COVID-19 cases totaled 23,005 Friday since the start of the pandemic in 2020. Gov. Justice, SBA, approve over $111 million for new schools and school upgrades in 19 counties
Gov. Justice, as Chairman of the West Virginia School Building Authority (SBA), announced a historic milestone as the SBA approved an allocation of $111,687,534 to 19 counties for Fiscal Year 2024. MD STATE POLICE HELICOPTER CREW PERFORMS AERIAL RESCUE
Maryland State Police helicopter crew rescues a woman after injuries sustained from a long fall off of a cliff. Shortly after noon yesterday, the Maryland State Police Aviation Command was requested to assist Washington County Fire personnel with the extraction of a hiker that fell approximately 50 feet off of a cliff along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail in Knoxville.
