On 12/13/2023 the Cumberland City Police Department served two Arrest Warrants on Kristen Nicole Smith. The warrants were issued when Smith violated the conditions of probation from two previous driving while impaired cases. Smith was also wanted through Washington County Maryland Circuit Court for CDS possession not cannabis. Smith was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bail pending her next court appearance.
Warner Maintains Election Was Improper
The West Virginia Secretary of State is maintaining that the 2020 Presidential election was improperly influenced by federal officials. His basis for that opinion is centered on the controversy surrounding a letter about Hunter Biden’s laptop that he says was used to create a debate point for Joe Biden in an appearance against Donald Trump. Maryland Tax Connect Ready For Rollout
Maryland Tax Connect is preparing its online rollout. The new self-service online portal will eventually be open to all Maryland taxpayers but will be phased in beginning in February to different business tax types. By 2026, all taxpayers will be able to pay their state taxes through the Maryland Tax Connect portal as well as update information, view filing and tax history, and apply for business licenses.
PA Deadline For Healthcare Signup Approaches
Pennsylvania Lt. Governor Austin Davis was part of a press conference this week at Harrisburg Health Center reminding Commonwealth residents to sign up for healthcare plans. Baltimore Ravens Announce Stadium Improvements
Sometimes signing a long-term lease has its advantages. While the Orioles are still in limbo, the Baltimore Ravens have announced over $400 million in renovations coming to M&T Bank Stadium. The Ravens recently signed a new 15-year lease with the State of Maryland, allowing them to tap into $600 million in bond funds allotted to them through the Maryland Stadium Authority.
