Fall Back Clocks Today

Daylight Savings Time ends November 5th.  That means those clocks have to be turned back an hour, although it happens automatically with most devices nowadays.  Across the country, there is still a move to do away with the clock change.

Gov. Justice to celebrate West Virginia tree heading for display at the U.S. Capitol at event in Charleston

Gov. Jim Justice invited West Virginians to a holiday festival next Tuesday, November 7, to officially send off a 63-foot Norway Spruce from the Monongahela National Forest to the U.S. Capitol. This is the first time in nearly 50 years that a West Virginia tree will be on display in the nation’s capital, and a festival will be hosted in Charleston to commemorate the honor.    The event will kick off with a parade and will include family-friendly activities showcasing winter offerings from around the state, including ice skating and a light display on the Capitol lawn. Football Drops Tight Defensive Battle at Home to Pioneers

The Frostburg State Football team fell to the Glenville Pioneers at home on Saturday afternoon by a score of 13-10. Prior to the game, Frostburg recognized several senior players who are playing out their final years in a Bobcat uniform.  To start the game, FSU won the toss and deferred, as GSU received the opening kick. Baker Street disturbance leads to Animal Abuse Arrest

On November 3, 2023, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department were dispatched to a Baker Street residence for a domestic disturbance. Officers were advised that the disturbance began after their dogs urinated and defecated on the floor. Through the investigation Officers learned that Wimberley got mad and stabbed one dog in the back leg with a knife. Officers entered the residence and observed blood on the floor and throughout the apartment. Officers observed one dog with injuries consistent with being stabbed. Arrest Warrants Served

On November 3, 2023, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served an Arrest Warrant on Shawn Gladden. The Arrest Warrant stemmed from an incident on October 31, 2023, when officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad for an assault in progress. Officers were advised by the victim and witnesses that the victim and Gladden were involved in a verbal argument. The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police – Barrack C have combined resources to target open and active warrants. As a result, the following individuals have been apprehended. Thursday, November 2, 2023 Jerry Wayne Messer, 47 of Cincinnati, Ohio, was arrested and charged as a Fugitive from Justice due to being wanted by the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office for Aggravated Possession of Drugs, Aggravated Trafficking of Drugs, Possession of LSD and Trafficking LSD.
