In an article published on Monday by the Baltimore Business Journal, it was stated "America’s high school graduation rate has reached a record high of 83.2 percent, and the rate in Maryland is even higher, at 87 percent." In Allegany County, the graduation rate in 2015 was 92.06%, up from 91.51% in 2014. ACPS has seen an increase in its graduation rate since 2010. "Graduation rate is a key indicator of the success of a school system," said Superintendent of Schools, Dr. David Cox. “I am very proud of our students, teachers, and all of our staff who support the deliberate and focused efforts to increase our graduation rate by working individually with students to support them to be successful.”
